A Hole in a Fence is a documentary style film concentrating on an abandoned lot located in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The story focuses on this lot which was the venue for a homeless community; and the film is also about the architect who worked to document it. It studies the very detailed development issues and the identity and class that faces Brooklyn. Local kids who run an urban farm are shown in the middle of this industrial decayed spot. Young graffiti artists are also losing their best location when an Ikea megastore is planned to be built here. All of this happens right on the opposite side of an old rusty fence.
