Determined to help his company win an car race, O'Donovan breaks into a rival racing car plant to steal secret designs. Things get out of control when he triggers an alarm and starts a shoot out with security guards, killing several of them. Fearing the killings will cause a scandal, O'Donovan's boss sends a hit man to silence him. He tries to survive long enough to win the big race.
