The American Snitch is a comedy film that was released in 1983. The film takes a look at the kind of reporting done by tabloids, and the way that celebrities interact with tabloid reporters. This is done with the use of several actors who look like major celebrities. It shows these faux-celebrities engaging in acts that would get them mentioned in tabloids in order to boost their fame. This includes such things as racing cars, getting into domestic disputes, and dres to be photographed while shopping. The American Snitch was directed by Richard A. Harris, and features performances by Fred McCarren, Lane Smith, and André De Shields.
